Ewellix – New play-free electromechanical CAMT actuator
A smart design for surgical tables and procedure chairs
With the electromechanical actuator CAMT from Ewellix, shaky operating tables and procedure chairs belong to the past. Developed with a unique design the play- and maintenance-free actuator CAMT gives doctors and caregivers better control over the position of the operating table. Other actuators have uncontrolled axial movement when the direction changes, the CAMT does not. It moves smoothly in every direction thanks to the play-free feature. CAMT fulfills the high medical standard requirements and is UL 60601-1 approved.
CAMT provides a convenient plug-and-play solution and it comes with all the necessary attachments. The compact screw jack design combined with a self-locking screw and an efficient low noise worm gear moves the actuator and can be flexibly equipped with attachments for one or two degrees of freedom. This makes the CAMT suitable for both procedure chairs and operating tables.
The compact and space-saving actuator is play free and very quiet. It has a maximum stroke of up to 250 millimeters, pushes and pulls up to 6,000 Newtons dynamic load and can easily tilt patient seats both lengthwise and sidewise - at a speed of up to 6.5 millimeters per second. For the safety of patients and caregivers, every CAMT has a self-locking design, a back-up nut, mechanical end stops and current cut-off limit switches as standard. The rigid and stable design allows loads up to 13,200 Newton (safety factor 2.2) static load on the actuator without any damage; in addition it also fulfils safety factor 4 according to the UL 60601-1. Since operating tables and procedure chairs no longer shake thanks to the CAMT, patients will feel safer during the treatment.
